1. What age is this for?
I recommend using this with children 3.5 - 5. You can use it with younger children, but you may need to modify some activities. This curriculum is designed to prepare your child for kindergarten, so the ideal age is around 4.
2. How are the alphabet letters taught if it's not "Letter of the Week?"
This is what I'm MOST excited about for this curriculum. Instead of teaching one letter per week, you teach alphabet letters in cycles so they get repeated exposure. Children learn best when they have many multisensory experiences with letters.
Here's how the curriculum is set up:
1st cycle - learn uppercase letter names (in alphabetical order)
2nd cycle - introduce writing uppercase letters, starting with the easiest ones to write.
first- L F E H T I (straight lines)
second-U C O Q G S J D P B R (curved lines)
third- K A M N V W X Y Z (vertical lines)
3rd cycle - learn lowercase alphabet letters, starting with the easiest ones.
first - c o s v w t (like their capital letters)
second- a d g (high frequency words and starts with a 'c' formation)
third- u i e l k y j
fourth- p r n m h b (starts with line down)
fifth- f q x z
4th cycle - introduce letter sounds
first- b d j k p t v z
second- f l m n r x
third- h q w y
fourth -c g s (more than 1 sound)
fifth - a, e, i, o, u (long and short vowel sounds)
3. How will I receive the products?
A few minutes after purchasing, you will receive an email with your product. If you bought the curriculum, you will receive a private link to download all the resources. If you bought the course, you will receive instructions for logging into the course area, where you will also find the curriculum. Make sure to check your spam or promotions folder in case the email lands there!
4. Why are there a lot of printables? Are they worksheets?
The printables are designed to help make the activities easy for you. No, they are not paper and pencil worksheets. They are games, fun activities, printable booklets, scavenger hunts, and so much more.
5. Help! I'm having trouble printing! What should I do?
Make sure you've downloaded the free version of Adobe Reader and it's updated to the latest version. If you still have problems, try uninstalling Adobe and then reinstalling it.
6. Why is this priced higher than other products?
I like to keep my products affordable for parents and teachers. These two products have taken me over 7 months to create, with a lot of time and money invested into them.
7. Can I just make up my own lessons with ideas from Pinterest?
You may be already investing time and energy doing things like writing lesson plans, pinning ideas on Pinterest, organizing your materials, and other things you keep hearing you “need” to be doing. The only problem is, without a clear strategy that ties them all together, you’ve experienced nothing but discouraging “why the heck do I even bother” results, followed by crippling overwhelm around what to do next. This curriculum and course has done everything for you. I've spent years researching methods and teaching children and know this way works.
8. Is there a guarantee?
YES! If you find that this curriculum or course isn't for you, I will refund you 100% within 14 days of purchasing.
